Basseterre: St. Kitts, Monday, November 10, 2025: As an activity within their career week, the Ministry of Education’s School Counsellors Network facilitated a panel discussion for students with the focus on building healthy careers on Tuesday, November 04, at the Zion Moravian Church.
Chief Education Officer Mr. Francil Morris reflected on the relevance of the theme shared
“This theme is not only timely, but it is essential in a world where industries are evolving faster than ever. The ability to adapt, to learn and intentionally design your own path is the cornerstone of a successful and fulfilling career. The main goal of today is to bridge the gap between aspirations and action; to give you, our students a glimpse into the real world of work, and to empower you with the insights that will shape your own journey.”
Mr. Morris urged students to actively participate in the proceedings.
“Today’s exercise is not merely a gathering to listen passively. It is a dynamic space for you to be engaged and be empowered. A space where you will be encouraged to ask questions, reflect deeply and envision the kind of future you will want to create for yourself. Today your voices matter.”
The panel represented a wide range of backgrounds and viewpoints. Members on the panel were Mr. Enote Inanga representing STEAM and a parent’s viewpoint, Mr. Sylvester Dore, Principal and Children with Special Needs representative, Mrs. Mercia Pemberton Browne – Sports, Dr. Kertney Thompson – TVET.
